Our Story

"The inspiration for Woofdaze comes from my dog, Scotti. His favorite thing to do is bask in the sun after a good play session or walk. He just plops down, eyes squinted, soaking up all the sun he can — like he's in a daze, or as I call it, a Woofdaze. He looks so at peace. Nothing else fazes him. He's just a little dog who loves the rays. That slowed-down energy reminds me to slow down and smell the roses, in a sense.

Scotti is my first dog, a rescue we got about a year and a half ago. When we lived in California, it would get cold in the early mornings and at night, so we started getting him sweaters to stay warm. They became a form of comfort for him on the gloomier days that were missing the sunshine.

As I looked for sweaters for him, a lot of what I found felt like it focused on the wrong thing — pop culture icons, sports teams — instead of the dog wearing them. I wanted Scotti to have basics that didn't take away from who he is, and instead highlighted his individual personality. Something he could wear under the clouds and the sun, during his biggest play sessions and his longest naps.

That's what started the dog tank: a durable tank top that gives his front legs room to move and stretch, with a form-fitting design that keeps him comfortable. From our California roots, a tank top is our symbol of relaxation and good times. We feel like the dog tank embodies who we are as a brand, and we plan to bring that same energy to future product lines.
